Want to be more involved in the Auburn Table Tennis Club or have some ideas you would like to see implemented? We have some ATTC administrative positions available. Round Robin results for 1/25/2012: A nice turnout of 21 players looking to get their competitive fix, so we divided up into 4 groups of 6, 5, 5 & 5.

Group 1: Sam Seo continues to play strong and goes 4-0 to get the group win.

Group 2: It came down to the last match with both Bill Kochenderfer and Tom Spesick each sitting at 3-0, with Bill getting the win and moving back to Table 1.

Group 3: Patrice Tournier sweeps the group, going 4-0 to get the win.

Group 3: Mark Copeland, Tamara Chappell and Jon Saunders all go 3-1 on the night, so no clear winner.

If you would like to be included, please send me an email blurb telling a little about yourself and why you play table tennis or write something down for me. You can also send me a picture to use or I can take one at the club. If you are already on the profile page please review and let me know if you would like any updates.

Robot Day – Bill K. is bringing his TT robot to the club once a month. Dates to be announced before each visit.

Welcome back to winter weather ATTC Players–

Round Robin results for 1/18/2012: Another nice turnout of 22 for our Round Robin. Also a good turnout on Monday for Open Play with Bill Kochenderfer and John Hanna spending some quality time training players and offering pointers. If you are missing a towel or other gear, we have accumulated some items that haven’t been claimed, please see Tom or Bill K.

Group 1: Sergey Tsvor and Sam Seo both go 3-1, but Sergey wins the head to head match 3-2 to get the group win.

Group 2: John Hanna, Tyler Spesick and Tom Spesick all beat up on each other with each going 4-1, so no clear Table winner.

Group 3: Ricky Pisanu goes 4-0 without dropping a single game to win the group and move up a Table next week.

Group 3: George Yang and Tamara Chappell didn’t lose a game until they played each other, with George getting the 3-2 win and winning the group!

Greetings ATTC Players–

Round Robin results for 1/11/2012: A huge turnout of 26 players showed up for our RR. We welcomed three new players to the ATTC Round Robin, Jesse Hinton, Mario Vieira and Tom Jasper. We also welcomed back Chuck Feyh and Chamy Poveda after some time away, as well as JZ Zhuang coming up to hand out awards and dish out some RR punishment! With such a large group and a slightly late start, some matches were not able to be played.

Group 1: JZ goes 4-0 to keep his Auburn domination intact.

Group 2: Matthew Blom pulls off some big wins to go 5-0 and get the group win to move back to Table 1!

Group 3: Larry Scott goes 6-0 to sweep the group and insure a Table 2 appearance next week! Chris Ziyalan picks up 114 Rating Points!

Group 3: Chuck Feyh completes the night of sweeps by going 6-0 to get the win in his return to the RR!

JZ presented awards to our 2011 second half winners sponsored by TableTennisOnly.com. We had a late start and presented the awards at the end of the evening. Sam and Mark, I have your awards and will present them to you next week. I also would like to get all of the winners together for a picture. Great job everyone! Congratulations!

Happy New Year ATTC Players–

Round Robin results for 1/4/2012: 20 players starting the New Year right, we split up into 4 groups of 5. We have a large cluster of players from 1700 – 1900 and from 600 – 1000, so trying to set up the groups to be the most competitive and as large as possible and still get all of the matches in.

Group 1: Sergey Tsvor goes 4-0 to win the group! Tyler Spesick comes close… but loses by 2 points in the 5^th to both Anson Kwong and Sergey.

Group 2: John Hanna goes 4-0 without dropping a game, to get the group win and move back to Table 1!

Group 3: Micah Chavez, the #5 seed, goes 4-0 to win the group and move up a Table!

Group 3: George Yang, Doug Vaughan and Tamara Chappell all go 3-1, so no clear group winner!

Our 2^nd half of 2011 has ended – in our twice annual “Best Record” and “Most Improved” categories. A minimum of 15 appearances is necessary to qualify. Awards given out to the top 3 positions in both categories as well as the Sportsmanship award winner are provided by JZ at tabletennisonly.com.

Awards to be presented on Wed. Jan 11^th.

Best Record - Sam Seo completes an excellent half by winning 80.2% of his matches! Sergey Tsvor finishes 2^nd at 70.3% and Matthew Blom comes in 3^rd at 66.7%!

Most Improved - Larry Scott pulls out the win with a rating increase of +133 this half! Tamara Chappell finishes strong and comes in 2^nd with a +116 point increase! Mark Copeland finishes 3^rd with a +106 point increase!

Sportsmanship Award – In another close vote, this half’s winner of the Sportsmanship Award goes to Sergey Tsvor! Sergey is a great competitor with a great attitude and is always polite, win or lose!
