Greetings Auburn Table Tennis Club members –

ATTC 6^th Anniversary Celebration – Mark your calendars… Monday May 23^rd  6:30 – 9:30 pm, join us for an evening of Table Tennis Fun with Pizza and Sodas! We will offer a Doubles Round Robin and lots of Open Play. Please sign in before 6:45 for Doubles, I’ll pick the teams, and we’ll get the RR started at 7:00, we’ll leave some tables available for Open Play as well. Our Special Events Director, Bill Indreboe will have complimentary Pizza and Soda arriving between 7:00 ~ 7:30. Normal Monday rates apply, $3 Adults, $1 Juniors and our special Monday/Wednesday deal of $5 is still valid. Hope to see a good turnout and some faces that may have been away for awhile. Please RSVP to Tom, spesick@comcast.net so we can get a general head count and if you’re interested in playing in the Doubles RR.

Round Robin results for 4/27/2011: A light turnout of 12 for RR, so we split up into two groups of 6.

Group 1: Sergey Tsvor arrived a bit late, so he didn’t get to complete all of his matches, but he wins the group with a 3-0 record. Matthew Blom continues his improvement and takes down two Table 1 regulars and gets a nice 75 point rating increase!

Group 2: Eric Stefanic makes a long overdue RR appearance and shows no signs of rust as he goes 5-0 for the group win and if he’s back next week, he gets his shot at Table 1! Doug Vaughan gets some nice wins as well and has a 45 point rating increase!

Several players are closing in on or have met the required 15 RR appearances for our Best Record and Most Improved twice annual awards. Abhijeet Lall leads the way in the Most Improved category with an increase of 267 Rating points since January 1^st, but probably won’t get in enough RR appearances. Tamara Chappell is then in the driver’s seat with an increase of 189 points! She just needs one more RR to qualify. Bill Kochenderfer, Sergey Tsvor and Tom Spesick are all pretty close together for Best Record honors. We still have two months to go, so anything can happen. A large turnout of people enjoying the Auburn Table Tennis Club on Monday 4/18! Keep on coming!

Round Robin results for 4/20/2011: A group of 14 for RR, so we split up into two large groups of 7. More play for the money for everyone! That’s why we’re here!

Group 1: Tom Spesick goes 5-1 and gets the group win by virtue of Bill Kochenderfer not being able to get his match in against Sergey Tsvor, so Bill goes 4-1, but gives Tom his only loss. Tyler Spesick comes over from the dark side and gives Shakehand grip and smooth rubber a try!

Group 2: Nikolai Zavastitsa tears through the large group posting a 6-0 record and gets his shot at Table 1 next week!

Congratulations to our very own John Hanna! John shows Southern California how it’s done by winning the U-1950 event at the LATTA Tournament last weekend!

Reminder: The Sacramento Table Tennis Club will be Closed the week of April 18^th – 22^nd, Auburn will be OPEN for Monday Open Play and Wednesday RR!

Round Robin results for 4/13/2011:

Group 3: The group plays to seed and Michael Martin wins the group.

Group 2: A lot of good battles as Nikolai Zavastitsa, Larry Scott and Ricky Pisanu all go 3-1, so no clear group winner.

Group 1: Bill Kochenderfer tears through the group on his way to a 5-0 evening! Matthew Blom gets another Table 1 Scalp as well!

Greetings ATTC Players –

The Sacramento Table Tennis Club will be Closed the week of April 18^th – 22^nd. Come on up and visit Auburn! Monday Open Play and Wednesday RR… the only RR in the area that week!

USATT Ratings are in from the Sacramento Spring Tournament – Huge increases for several Auburn players! Elan Seagraves up 264 points to a 981 rating; Bob Hemming up 51 to 1259; Nikolai Zavastitsa up 200 to 1561; Dave Ganguly up 131 to 1759  and Tyler Spesick up 219 to 1800! Awesome Job everyone! I guess all of that play at the ATTC is paying off!!! On a side note: John Hanna should be on this list going up approximately 70 points to around 1850 rating, but there were some errors on the input of his result entries and hopefully they will be corrected shortly.

Round Robin results for 4/6/2011: A smaller turnout this Wednesday as several regulars were not in attendance.

Group 1: Grant Connell and Sergey Tsvor both go 4-0, but run out of time and don’t get to battle each other for the Table win.

Group 2: Mark Copeland gets the group win by going 4-0.

Player Profiles – I’ll be updating the Player Profile page on our website and would like to get some of our more recent “Regulars” on there. Email me a short blurb and photo if you like or I can get a picture and short write up from you at the club. I can also update existing profiles if desired.

USATT Membership – If you need to renew (or join) for tournament purposes, see Bill K.  We can do this through Auburn Table Tennis Club and save you a few bucks in the process.
