Round Robin results for 7/27/2011: Welcome to first time ATTC players Ashwin Parthasarathi, Chris Ziyalan and Nick Thompson. Also welcome Thanh Nguyen with his first visit in several months.

Group 1: Sam Seo wins the group again with several good wins to go 3-1, but Dave Ganguly stops Sam’s winning streak!

Group 2: Sergey Tsvor goes 4-0 to get the group win!

Group 3: Chris Ziyalan sweeps the group to go 3-0.

Group 4: Jon Saunders also goes 3-0 to win the group.

Round Robin results for 7/20/2011: James Therriault made a welcome appearance at the ATTC! Our facility is a little confining for James to fully show his excellent all-around game highlighted by incredible lobbing, but he is always welcome and puts on a great show! Anson Kwong was back to RR play after an injury forced time off and Micah Chavez was also in action after being away for a few months.

Group 1: Sam Seo continues his excellent form and shows that Auburn has some top level play by getting by James Therriault 3-2 and sweeping the group 5-0!

Group 2: Sergey Tsvor, Matthew Blom and Dave Ganguly each go 5-1 in the big group of 7, so no clear winner.

Group 3: Doug Vaughan goes 4-1 to win the group. Kristopher Han gets some great wins and picks up an incredible 123 rating points in the process!

Hello Auburn players –

Ratings Software Change – To answer a few questions… basically the new system the ATTC is using gives an extra +1 point for every match win. So if you go 4-1 in the RR, you win/lose points based on you and your opponents rating (see the rating chart at http://www.auburntabletennis.com/info.htm) plus you would get an additional 4 points total for the 4 matches won. It is a way for us to inject more points into our rating system, since our software doesn’t allow us to change a players rating on the fly. The software does add the +1 point for every win going back to when we first implemented the software in July 2009, that is why the sudden increase for many players.

Round Robin results for 7/13/2011: A few regulars missing and me just being a spectator while out with a toe injury, left us with 14 players for the RR. Welcome back Dave Ganguly after being away from the ATTC for a while!

Group 1: Sam Seo goes 4-0 while squeaking out three different 3-2 wins to win the group!

Group 2: Larry Scott goes 4-0 and doesn’t lose a game to win Table 2! The group plays out in order of ranking.

Group 3: Jon Saunders plays his way to 3-0 and wins the group!

Hello ATTC players –

Congratulations again to the 2011 first half winners and thanks again to JZ at TableTennisOnly.com for sponsoring the awards! The timing didn’t work out last night, but I hope to get a group picture of the winners within the next week or two.

Tamara Chappell wins the Most Improved category with an increase of 213 Rating points since January 1^st! Michael Martin +126 for 2^nd and Larry Scott +49 for 3^rd.

Bill Kochenderfer wins the Best Record category with a winning percentage of 71.6%! Sergey Tsvor 63.4% for 2^nd and Tom Spesick 59.2% for 3^rd.

Sportsmanship Award – Our first presentation of this new award to also be given out twice annually. We received votes for several different ATTC players, showing what a great club we have! In a tight vote, Bill Kochenderfer wins the ATTC Sportsmanship Award!
