3 weeks and counting��tournament update:

get your entry in prior to 9/19 and your name will appear in the tournament program.

this is a co-venture with the sierra nevada club and the auburn recreation district. many of us have and will continue to pour considerable resources into this event. since this is a club project, i expect all players to support the tournament and contribute as they can. success will avoid the necessity of raising fees in the near future. most of you have received flyers and many have already placed them. if you have not received any please let bill k. or i know. in order to gather information for next year, i am asking that you advise me of the stores you are successful with. if these stores will allow us to also place entry forms with them, let us know. when you approach someone to put up a flyer your first words should be � the auburn recreation district (ard) is hosting a table tennis tournament� also mention it is a �community event� and that it is a non-profit making event� many businesses will only put up something that meets this type of criteria. ask them if you can put it up yourself. pick up some removable two sided tape squares from stables or similar. some types of business that might be productive�.fitness clubs, churches, sporting good stores, any place where people gather�cafes, coffee shops. use your imagination since you never know where they will catch some ones attention.

please note that we have a club event in this tournament on sunday 10/12. this is for you, so get your entry in prior to 9/19 and your name will appear in our program. get your neighbors and friends out to participate in our other events that day. all events are inexpensive and the venue is right here in auburn. support your club by supporting this tournament.

the preparations for our october tournament is off and running.

this is a co-venture with the sierra nevada club and the auburn recreation district. many of us have and will continue to pour considerable resources into this event. since this is a club project, i expect all players to support the tournament and contribute as they can. the initial task for all players will be to distribute flyers to store fronts in your area and place them on their front windows or other prominent area. during the next few weeks, we will give everyone 5 flyers to distribute. in order to gather information for next year, i am asking that you advise me of the stores you are successful with. if these stores will allow us to also place entry forms with them, let us know. some types of business that might be productive….fitness clubs, churches, sporting good stores, any place where people gather…cafes, coffee shops. use your imagination since you never know where they will catch some ones attention.

please remember to refer to our playing calendar on our website auburntabletennnis.com. it is located under �playing information�. we are often open although some may observe a holiday.

as you probably have noticed, there is a donation jar at the sign in desk. the contents of which will be donated to local school(s) in form of a ping-pong table or other, depending on the generosity of the club members. the community thru ard provides a place for us to play at a reduced cost, so this is one way we can give a little back to the community.�
