Happy New Year Auburn Players–

ATTC Closed: Monday 1/2/12, we will be open for Wednesday Round Robin. Sierra TT Club will be open.

Round Robin results for 12/28/2011: 16 players in attendance for the final RR of the year. We split up into groups of 5, 6 & 5.

Group 1: James Therriault and Tom Spesick both go 3-1 with James getting the head to head win and winning the group. Tom picks up 65 rating points on the night!

Group 2: George Seicean fights his way to a 4-0 night and the group win! Grant Connell picks up 43 rating points!

Group 3: Chris Ziyalan goes 4-0 to win the group while Tamara Chappell grabs an impressive 87 rating points!

Our 2^nd half of 2011 has ended – in our twice annual “Best Record” and “Most Improved” categories. A minimum of 15 appearances is necessary to qualify. Awards given out to the top 3 positions in both categories as well as the Sportsmanship award winner are provided by JZ at tabletennisonly.com. Awards to be presented on Wed. Jan 11^th.

Down to the wire -  Final RR results played heavily into this half’s winners for Most improved. A win or loss had the results changing by the match. Tyler Spesick’s sore neck kept him from playing and he didn’t finish with enough RR appearances to qualify. The results were very close as places 3 – 6 were separated by only 12 points. Best record wasn’t so close this time…

Best Record - Sam Seo completes an excellent half by winning 80.2% of his matches! Sergey Tsvor finishes 2^nd at 70.3% and Matthew Blom comes in 3^rd at 66.7%!

Most Improved - Larry Scott pulls out the win with a rating increase of +133 this half! Tamara Chappell finishes strong and comes in 2^nd with a +116 point increase! Mark Copeland finishes 3^rd with a +106 point increase!

Sportsmanship Award – In another close vote, this half’s winner of the Sportsmanship Award goes to Sergey Tsvor! Sergey is a great competitor with a great attitude and is always polite, win or lose!

Merry Christmas ATTC players –

ATTC Closed: Monday 12/26/11 and Monday 1/2/12, we will be open for Wednesday Round Robin. Sierra TT Club will be open on both Mondays.

Round Robin results for 12/21/2011: 22 Holiday revelers took time out of their busy schedules to enjoy some friendly competition at the ATTC RR! We divided up into 4 groups of 6, 5, 5 & 6.

Group 1: Several matches going the full 5 game distance, but when the dust settled, both Sam Seo and Sergey Tsvor end up 4-0 without enough time to get in the deciding match against each other.

Group 2: Tom Spesick goes 4-0 without dropping a game to get back to Table 1! Larry Scott picks up 56 rating points!

Group 3: Kirk Gipson goes 3-0 to win the group while Mark Copeland grabs 47 rating points!

Group 4: George Yang goes 5-0 to win the group and move up a table next week!

Happy Holiday Season ATTC players –

Round Robin results for 12/14/2011: 19 players getting their competitive fix. We divided up into groups of 6, 7 & 6 with only 1 match not Played in Group 1 and 2 matches not played in Group 2. Feedback has mostly been positive on the larger RR groups, let me know if you agree or think otherwise and we will try to accommodate the best we can.

Group 1: Sergey Tsvor gets the group win, going 4-0, while Tyler Spesick continues to impress, going 4-1 and gaining another 50 points!

Group 2: Matthew Blom battles his way to a 5-1 record and the group win along with a 35 point rating increase! Patrice Tournier picks up another 41 points and now has a 216 point increase in the last month!

Group 3: Nathan Seicean dishes out some punishment on his way to a 5-0 record while the rest of the group other than the top 2 spots, finishes in order of ranking.

Hello Auburn TT players –

Round Robin results for 12/7/2011: A nice turnout of 21 players, so we went with 3 large groups of 7 to try to keep the groups competitive with closely rated players. Longer rallies and extended matches prevented Group 1 from getting in a fair amount of matches, Group 2 only ran out of time for 2 matches and Group 3 got all of their matches in.

Group 1: Most players got in only 4 of their 6 matches due to time, but Sam Seo goes 3-1 to win the group!

Group 2: Tyler Spesick gets the group win, going 4-1 and gets another Table 1 visit next week. Patrice Tournier is on a roll and picks up another 60 points!

Group 3: Chris Ziyalan the #1 seed, goes 6-0 to win the group and move up a table next week. The group’s results almost go as ranked, except Jon Saunders spoiled that with a couple of “upsets” and gains 29 points in the process!

Final Month – in our twice annual “Best Record” and “Most Improved” categories. A minimum of 15 appearances is necessary to qualify. Awards given out to the top 3 positions in both categories are provided by JZ at tabletennisonly.com. Sam Seo currently leads in the Best Record with a very impressive 80.6% winning percentage! Several players are close to each other in the Most Improved Rating department, with some needing a few more appearances to qualify. Sportsmanship Award – Bill Kochenderfer won the inaugural award 6 months ago in a tight voting battle. Polls are open – start sending me your votes on who you think deserves the award for this half of the year at the ATTC!

Table Tennis Robot – Bill K. will have his robot at the club for ATTC use once a month on a Monday, with the first time being planned for this next Monday 12/12. Come give it a try at no extra cost.
