Season's Greetings ATTC players –

ATTC Closed – Wed. Jan. 1^st.

Bill Kochenderfer organized our Special RR on Monday 12/23 and had this report:

The Super No Pressure Extra Special Monday Christmas Round Robin was held December 23^rd –

Among those gracing the playing tables with their presence was Paula Dwelly, absent for some time but keen to see if her hitting skills were sharp (Paula is a founding member of the club, holding Player ID #19).  Also we welcomed first time visitor Joel Megerssa. 

With T-Shirts at stake, the play was friendly but focused, with only a few fisticuffs but no weapons (apart from paddles) were used.

Tamara Chappell and Jon Saunders claimed shirts from Group D – with Tamara sweeping the group 4-0 in her 2^nd seeded position.   In Group C – Chris Ziyalan swept the group, leaving a 3 way tie for 2^nd, with Michael Carlson sporting the best won-loss percentage and claiming a shirt.

In Group B – US Nationals Competitor Larry Scott, war weary and recently returned from that competition (i.e. the day before), could not hold his top slot in the group, and Ricky Pisanu toughed out the victory on the table, followed by Chris Lim, who clearly has been benefiting from undisclosed training sessions (and of course his personal rooting section), striking from the 5^th seed position to claim a T Shirt as well.

Group A brought another US Nationals player and his training staff – specifically James Therriault who won the U 2200 US Nationals this past weekend. A smashing victory.  James’ not-so-secret training partners, John Hanna and also George Seicean, made the trek to Auburn as well in hopes of a pre-Christmas T Shirt grab.  Nobody established world domination in the event, with a 3 way tie for 1^st between James, Bill Kochenderfer, and Tom Spesick as they all went 3-1. Of the 10 matches played, 6 went to 5 games, a testament to the ferocious desires to win an $11 T Shirt.

We are back to regular “open play” Monday the 30^th!

Results are in – in our twice annual “Best Record” and “Most Improved” categories. A minimum of 15 appearances is necessary to qualify, some players already have enough appearances. Awards given out to the top 3 positions in both categories are provided by JZ at tabletennisonly.com. Award night will be announced in the near future.

2013 Second Half Winners:

Best Record - Sergey Tsvor 80.8% 1^st Place, Tom Spesick 66.3%  2^nd  Place,  Bill Kochenderfer 60.9% 3^rd Place.

Most Improved - Larry Scott +195 1^st Place, Rick Henderson +113 2^nd Place, Grant Connell +57 3^rd Place.

Group 1: Bill Kochenderfer goes 3-0 to win the group!

Group 2: Ben Johnson goes 3-0 to get the group win!

Group winners move up a table the following week.
